FANTASTIC BT VOLUNTEERS HELP LV= SOS KIT AID
A big, big thanks from all at LV= SOS Kit Aid to Sonia Spalding and her marvellous team of fifteen BT volunteeers who came to LV= SOS Kit Aid's Braintree storage depot at MDS Civil Engineering at Braintree last week. In the blazing hot sunshine, Sonia and her enthusiatic BT volunteers team unpacked/sorted/boxed over 150 large boxes of rugby and cricket kit!
This was a first for both BT and LV= SOS Kit Aid and a great time was had by all and much good work done and fun to be had by all. BT very generously allow their employees three days off a year to do charitble work. Sonia got in touch with LV= SOS Kit Aid and offered the services of her team which we were delighted to accept.
John Broadfoot, LV= SOS Kit Aid Co-Chairman, explained to the team the background to LV= SOS 's work in helping youngsters in disadvantaged, emerging countries to play rugby and cricket and that we are helping in the UK too. They were most interested to learn of the environmental, recycling, benefits of LV-SOS Kit Aid too and were soon attacking the mountain of kit to be boxed. It really was a great day for all and LV= SOS Kit Aid would like to thank BT, Sonia and her wonderfully enthusiatic team for all their help.
There are two more such days happening in October at Croydon and in December in Northants. Everyone was a winner and we look forward to working more closely with BT in the future. Thank you Sonia and your wonderful team - see you soon!
