BRISTOL'S DISADVANTAGED YOUNGSTERS TO BENEFIT FROM LV= SOS KIT AID DAY

Disadvantaged children in Bristol are set to benefit from the first LV= SOS Kit Aid regional day. The day is taking place on Wednesday 11 May during Gloucestershire's home game in the LV= County Championship against Northamptonshire at the County Ground in Bristol.

To encourage as many people as possible to take part in the day, Gloucestershire CCC are offering a special discounted entry fee of just £1 after 1pm for anyone donating their kit.

The first regional LV= SOS Kit Aid day will be used to directly benefit the local Bristol StreetGames initiative. The scheme focuses on delivering sport in a fun, accessible, affordable and inclusive way to young people of all ages in areas of high deprivation in central and east Bristol.

The action packed day will kick off with Gloucestershire CCC players donating some of their own kit to the scheme, followed by a special coaching session for the youngsters who donate their kit.

Adding their support to the day will be James Mapstone, Mike Henderson and local rugby legend Gareth Chilcott.

Encouraging people to support the day, former England rugby star Gareth Chilcott said, "It's so important for children to have access to sport and for many of us it's something we just take for granted. However there are countless children in this country and around the world who don't have that luxury and that's why the LV= SOS Kit Aid scheme is so important.

Like all good ideas the LV= SOS Kit Aid Scheme is so simple. All you have to do is donate some kit or equipment you don't use anymore which is gathering dust around the house and a youngster will benefit as a result - it really couldn't be simpler. It's going to be a great day at the County Ground so please do come along and support us, you'll even get to watch some top cricket too!"
